I had the wonderful opportunity to model for Thawadar Boutique, and it was an experience I truly cherished. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and valued. One of the things I loved most was the creative freedom I had—I got to choose the style and colors that resonated with me, which made the whole experience feel personal and empowering.
The dresses themselves were stunning—elegant, well-crafted, and designed to celebrate the beauty of a woman’s form. Wearing them made me feel confident and radiant. It wasn’t just about the fashion; it was about embracing my femininity and expressing myself in a way that felt natural and authentic.
What drew me to this opportunity was the chance to be part of something that aligns with my values—celebrating individuality, beauty, and culture through fashion. And most importantly supporting Shardia: a friend and fellow entrepreneur at the early stages of her business. As a woman, I believe in the power of representation and self-expression, and Thawadar Boutique embodies that beautifully.
Looking ahead, I’d love to continue being part of this journey, whether through modeling or supporting the brand in other ways. It’s inspiring to see a boutique that not only creates beautiful pieces but also fosters a sense of community and empowerment. I would like to say that I was very happy to be chosen to be apart of a clothing brand, with such meaning and purpose.
Being in the fashion industry as a Petite Model for 5 years now, made this opportunity happen. Doors open doors!
With that being said and my main job being in the Airline Industry. I'm a very sophisticated women myself, and I love to dress and express myself with such class.
Especially being a wife and always attending red carpet and top-class events.
The experience at Thawadar Boutique to represent the brand was top tier! Everything is never smooth at the beginning, but when that journey gets going everything comes together beautifully.
My dress was Amazingggggg it was the talk of the town it truly represented me as a person. The fit, the quality the design overall immaculate.
Everything is a learning process has this was my first shoot for a magazine.
The photographer was very good and gave good direction and confidence. The models Chosen was lovely, it was nice to work with them all.
The lady behind it all Shardia O'Connor is a phenomenal one. She has executed this brand so well and knows what she wants. With that being said Congratulations Shardia you did it girl!!
And I will definitely be working with Thawadar Boutique again in the future, this brand is definitely what I want to represent.

Working on the Thawadar photoshoot was an incredibly fulfilling experience that allowed me to bring together creativity, precision, and my professional background in couture and editorial makeup. From the outset, the project stood out due to its strong visual identity and attention to artistic detail. As someone who has spent over a decade refining my craft in the world of couture and freelance makeup artistry, it was refreshing to collaborate on a shoot that not only respected the artistry of makeup but also pushed its boundaries.
The creative brief from Thawadar was inspiring, striking the perfect balance between conceptual styling and modern elegance. From the moment I stepped onto set, it was clear that this was a team of professionals who were passionate, organised, and committed to excellence. The styling for the shoot was bold, culturally rich, and fashion-forward, making it a dream canvas for any makeup artist. I was able to draw from my years of working with luxury fashion houses and high-end clients to complement the wardrobe choices with looks that enhanced and balanced each outfit’s aesthetic.
My approach to makeup on this shoot was rooted in skin-focused beauty, layered with editorial edge. I always begin with a flawless base, using techniques that I’ve honed through years of working on couture runways and photo shoots, ensuring the skin looks luminous and fresh under studio lights. For Thawadar, I paid close attention to the textures and tones of the clothing, making sure each look felt cohesive yet elevated. Whether it was a soft, dewy glow paired with intricate eyeliner or bold lips to offset minimal styling, each look was designed to tell a story and enhance the overall composition.
One of the highlights of working on this shoot was the seamless synergy between the creative team. Being on set with like-minded creatives who respected each other’s work and allowed space for ideas to evolve made for a truly collaborative environment. We exchanged thoughts, tested variations, and gave each look the time and focus it deserved. Having worked in fast-paced environments throughout my career, from backstage at shows to editorial campaigns, I truly value when a team creates space for quality over haste. That kind of atmosphere was very much present on this shoot.
Additionally, my years of freelance work gave me the flexibility and adaptability needed to respond quickly to changes on set—whether adjusting for lighting, wardrobe tweaks, or creative shifts in direction. These moments required a calm, professional presence and a clear understanding of how to keep the visuals consistent with the original brief, all while being open to spontaneity and creative exploration.
Thawadar’s brand essence felt deeply aligned with my own philosophy as a makeup artist: a blend of classic artistry with contemporary flair. Their focus on elegance, storytelling, and attention to detail made this project particularly memorable for me. I left the shoot feeling not only proud of the work we produced but also artistically refreshed and inspired.
Overall, the experience was one of the most rewarding collaborations I’ve had in recent years. It was a space where my decade-plus of experience could shine, yet I still walked away having learned and grown from the process. I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of the Thawadar shoot and look forward to more creative partnerships with teams that share the same passion for visual storytelling, craft, and beauty as this one.

I am a hair stylist and speciliase in braids, cornrows, bridal hair, cuts, etc. Collaborating with Thawadar Boutique enabled me to gain a bit more confidence and meet new people, enjoying the company of boss ladies who share the same passion of uplifting women and building an empire where women can feel safe and anything is possible. Being able to see our visions come to light together was amazing. Styling the models hair to suit their chosen dress was amazing as they all looked stunning.
